Housing

Housing at every stage of recovery.

Where you stay depends on your level of care. Inpatient clients live on-site with us for the full course of treatment; outpatient clients move into structured sober housing and, eventually, independent living.

Inpatient

Inpatient housing

For clients in our inpatient program, housing and treatment happen in the same place.

You stay with us on-site

Inpatient clients live at our Minneapolis facility, 414 S 8th St, for the full length of their stay. You'll receive clinical care and support directly at that location — you don't need to arrange separate housing while you're in the inpatient program. Clients are able to stay up to 30 days in inpatient treatment; some may be able to stay longer with approval from their insurance.

Stepping down to outpatient

You stay at 414 S 8th St and keep receiving services there until you finish inpatient treatment. From there, our team helps you move down to outpatient care and into one of the outpatient housing options below.

Outpatient

Outpatient housing

Once you've stepped down to outpatient care, housing works in three stages.

1. Enroll in Outpatient Treatment

The first step toward securing stable housing is enrolling in an outpatient treatment program licensed under Minnesota's standards. Registering for outpatient care can make you eligible for funding assistance that helps cover the cost of sober living arrangements. If sober housing isn't feasible, clients can also stay in Group Residential Housing (GRH) while in treatment.

2. Move Into Sober Housing

Our partner board-and-lodge and Group Residential Housing (GRH) homes provide a supportive, structured living environment for individuals in outpatient recovery — comfortable accommodations, a drug-free atmosphere, and a strong sense of community and accountability.

3. Transition to Independent Housing

After completing outpatient treatment, individuals can transition to independent housing options such as Group Residential Housing (GRH), public housing, low-income housing, and Section 42 housing — with continued access to community resources and support networks.
